[EV08] - Ai, Sakura

Just saying this from the get-go, downloading one at a time is a major pain.

Magnet
I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before about Saku, but I'll summarize. It's not that Saku didn't sing well, it's that there was a lot of vibrato, similar to how Hugh Jackman sang in the new Les Miserables. Nutty's notes were spot on for the most part, but every now and then she was consistently just barely flat. With those two criticisms, I enjoyed the song, for the 100th time, and I really liked their voices together.

Romantic Summer
I don't mean to pick on Nutty, but it's only her mic that I hear a difference in quality in most songs. But that's just a small pet peeve that I can look over. As an overall note about the song, there's just something about it that feels cheesy, not sure if that's the word I'm looking for, to me. Maybe it's the backing track and the chorus. My only other note is that when Menchi and Nutty sing together, I lose Nutty to Menchi and can't really hear her any more. Beyond that, I liked the song.

Oh Darling
The male part sounded awkwardly low for Menchi, not saying that she didn't sing it well. I don't mean to play favorites but I really liked Spiral's vocal quality in this one. I really liked the mellow feel of this song. I heard overlapping Menchi voices, was that intended or was that supposed to be harmony? Other than that, I really liked this this song, definitely one of my favorites of this album.

Puzzle
I feel like I was asked to come up with harmonies for this song, sorry I didn't get around to that. Almost didn't recognize Saku for a second there. It might just be a personal preference, but being that the song was sung in unison, pretty sure that's how the original is, it sounded kind of bland. The only other thing I can say about the song, is that sometimes Spiral overpowers Saku's voice and "it" kind of fades into the background.

All About Us
I think my mic had a strange quality in comparison to Spiral's. Hearing myself next to Spiral, I feel like my harmony was flat. I'm pretty sure I'm playing favorites, but I think I'm the only problem with the song. This would be my favorite if it weren't for the last song.

I Want it That Way
Nice job with the backing track, Figgy, if I didn't know that he did it, I wouldn't have noticed. Figgy's singing wasn't necessarily bad, but it was somewhat nasal-y. Can't say too much about Baka, she did pretty well too. The only thing about her, is that since the song was originally sung by a boy band, her part was a lot deeper than the average female part, making her parts sound bored, for lack of better word. Other than that, I really liked the song, it's nice to hear a 90s song again.

I See the Light
Looks like someone beat Spiral and I to the punch, we've been trying to get this song done for a while. Rri's opening was great and I really have no qualms with it. Figgy's entrance was a bit quiet/weak, but it did build. It was a bit nasal-y again, but I won't go deeper into it. Nice job with the harmonies though. The whole song felt a bit quiet though, in comparison to the rest of the album.

First Love Academy
Strange song to follow I See the Light with, but whatever. Justice did a good job with the higher parts, but there was a single word "dame" where he kind of cracked. Having said that, it sounded like he was struggling for some of the notes. Knowing that the song is supposed to be a trio, the two Sakus singing to each other just sounds a bit strange. Great song though, definitely top 4 for me, probably because I really like the backing track.

Like a Virgin
Both sang very well, but I'm kind of liking Baka's singing in this one more. She had a certain "grittiness" that worked well with the song. Same with I See the Light, Rri's notes are always very pure and it sounds great. Overall, I liked the song, but it just feels a little strange with the different backing track, I guess I'm just too used to the original.

Guy Love
As soon as this came on, I was smiling. I simply love this song, and I'm 100% sure that it's favoritism, but at this point, I don't really care. On a personal note, I think I could've done a bit better. I feel like on "holding up your heart into the sky" we clashed a bit, but whatever. My personal favorite parts were the chorus after "let's go!" and last "it's guy love between two guys".

Overall
The album was great, it's a bit sad that we had to cut some parts, but it didn't harm the album too bad. I'm happy that Spiral and I have an official duet together, finally, and Guy Love shall be forever one of my favorites. Figgy seriously did a great job with the instrumental of I Want it That Way, hope we can keep on counting on him for instrumentals in the future. My only regret with this album is that I didn't do harmonies for Puzzle.

I think the instrumental had a tendency to overpower you two sometimes so i would have probably lowered it just a little bit more ^^ yesh i agree with Yin on your note accuracies ^^ they're pretty good! As for the vibrato thing, Kuya it's not a bad thing to have your vibrato though i think just sometimes it tends to not have enough control in places like you let it waver off on your notes, but i think your use of vibrato is nice just take it a little slower maybe! ^^ I ENJOYED THIS!

02 - Romantic Summer (lilmenchi/NutCase)
THE OCEAN SAYS YES! This is awesome bahaha XD I agree with Yin that nutty gets a little lost in the choruses! I'd have liked a bit more energy from nutty tooo, but god i love this song XD

03 - Oh Darling (Spiral/lilmenchi)
LAWL I LOVE THIS XD Manchi is the best! Awesome for a quick cover on Menchi's defenceeeee; THANK YOU FOR COVERING THIS MENCHI! THE MANSPI DUET! XD just to be clear that....i love my tone on this OTL -SELFISH-

omgomgomg XD yeah....i love this duet...i hate my beginning few notes just cause i let them go flat OTL but i selfishly declare i love this XD

FIGGLESWORTH MAKES ALL THE BACKTRACKS! <333 figglesworth you must support yourself a little bit more then your notes will get stronger, but your voice is just getting better ^^! Bakapai watch some of your runs, they get a little away from you, but it's nice to hear you sing! (omg figgy your run on "used to be" was NOMNOMNOM) I LOVE THIS DUET ^^!

07 - I see the Light (RriFandub/Figmoomoo)
Riri XD argh your builds are beautiful! Figglesworthhh just a bit more energy and you'll nail it! you can doo it! ^^

God damn it i love this song so much...freaking gumi...anyways! Kuya i loved your solo version and i loved you in this! Your notes and your vibrato (just to add that it's much MUCH more controlled in this song and i adore it! ^^) are all very nice here to me urghh your differentiation is beautiful! ^^ Justice argh i'll be constructive i swearrr~ you have to be careful with your higher parts cause sometimes it just gets super sharp then strainy to me (see chorus) ;-;
But urgh i love this song and your energy us fantastic XD i love you guys!
